The 512 battery charger is an easy to use tool, capable of charging up to five SLA batteries of different sizes simultaneously. Thanks to its ‘no fuss’ design, the 512 will save time and ensure you will never be let down by a flat or defective battery again. Simply connect the battery, switch the charger on and observe the small LED lights. An amber LED will glow as the battery charges and a green LED will appear when it is fully charged. During this process batteries are bulk charged at 14.4 volts then automatically reduced to a float charge at 13.5 volts.
The 512 battery charger features a two stage linear charging circuit with current limited output and is protected against short circuit and reverse polarity connection.
As new SLA batteries normally self-discharge at 3% per month in storage, it is vital to get them on charge as soon as possible. By using the 512 to charge batteries prior to installation, it not only reduces commissioning time but also eliminates early false alarms caused by low battery capacity problems.
