The Problem
Battery manufacturers recommend to recharge or replace a battery when its rated Ampere hour (Ah) capacity falls below 65%. But how can this be established when a multimeter only measures the battery voltage?

How It Works
The GOLD-IBT measures the Ampere-hour (Ah) capacity available in the battery in a similar way that a car fuel gauge measures the volume of fuel in your tank. The Ah capacity available is based on battery age, temperature and state of charge. The Ah capacity displayed is calculated by simulating a full 20 hour (C20 battery discharge) test in just 6 seconds. The patented neural technology employed by the GOLD-IBT achieves this by applying a pulsed frequency load test which measures Ah capacity available for use in the battery.

Operation
1. Connect
Connect the GOLD-IBT clips directly to isolated battery terminals as described in the operating manual (download PDF below)..
2. Compare
When the battery stated Ah capacity falls below 65%, it’s time to recharge or replace the battery. Compare results with the battery chart on the side of the meter.
3. Result
Record results onto a label provided and attach to the battery for future reference.
