ACT GOLD-PLUS
6/12V Intelligent Battery Tester
The ACT GOLD-PLUS is a dual voltage intelligent battery tester, designed for 6V and 12V lead acid batteries from 1.2Ah to 100Ah, making it capable of testing batteries up to 150Ah. It’s the only product of its kind to have an Ampere-hour (Ah) calibration control, enabling Ah readings to be adjusted to suit various battery technologies including standby SLA (AGM), cyclic GEL and car FLOODED (WET) batteries.

Although bigger than the previous 12V GOLD-IBT, the new 6/12V GOLD-PLUS contains advanced pulsed load analysis tecknology which removes surface charge to accurately measures the available Ah capacity based at the battery's temperature and state of charge. This enables you to check the voltage and capacity of new batteries straight from the box and identify used batteries which show abnormal Ah capacity caused by excess temperature or from being under or overcharged. A table on the back of the meter indicates when batteries should be recharged or replaced.

The new GOLD-PLUS is designed for those who need to test different types of lead acid batteries quickly and easily.

Top Technical Question: Why does a 7Ah battery show 9Ah+
Answer: Ah capacity is based on the battery's temperature as well as state of charge. For example, a new 7Ah battery straight from the box (around 20C/68F), will have between 6 - 8Ah available. The same battery, fully charged in a very warm enclosure (around 30C/86F or above), may have 9 - 11Ah. The hotter the battery, the higher the capacity and the shorter its life. Prove it! Take a new 7Ah battery straight from the box, test it, then place on a hot radiator for an hour to see the result. Cool batteries last longer!
