The new ACT-LBT Luminaire Battery Tester is designed to significantly reduce the time taken to perform a full rate battery duration test on stand-alone emergency lighting luminaires to meet the requirements of BS 5266. The ACT-LBT enables a full 3 hour battery duration test to be completed in 6 minutes for a pass or 6 seconds for a fail.
The operator simply attaches the ACT-LBT test lead clips to the battery terminals after isolating it from the charging circuit. Once connected, the ACT-LBT automatically determines if the battery type is a 2.4v/4.0Ah or 3.6v/1.5Ah NiCad cell. Once confirmed by a momentary green LED signal within 6 seconds, a flashing amber LED illuminates to start the test. At this critical point, if the battery is defective or has insufficient capacity to provide maximum light efficiently for 3 hours, a battery fail red LED will indicate. On completion of the 6 minute duration test, a green pass or red fail LED will latch on. After testing, sufficient capacity is left in the battery to operate the luminaire efficiently for a minimum of 1 hour.
• Performs a 3 hour battery duration test in 6 minutes
• Meets BS 5266 full rate duration luminaire test requirements
• Tests 2.4v/4.0Ah and 3.6v/1.5Ah NiCad batteries
• Automatically detects battery type on connection
• Fails defective batteries within 6 seconds
• Capacity pass or fail indication on completion of test
• Leaves sufficient capacity to operate the luminaire for at least 1 hour.
